With a workforce of over 5,800 professionals, they design, deliver, and sustain complex systems that power hospitals, transit networks, data centers, federal campuses, and more.

They are currently seeking a Fire Alarm Engineer 3 to join their Life Safety Group. This role will focus on the full life cycle of fire alarm and detection projects — from concept design through fabrication, installation, commissioning, and close-out.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead design and engineering of fire detection and alarm systems, including special hazard suppression and mass notification systems
     
  • Produce code-compliant deliverables, basis of design narratives, specifications, and shop drawings
     
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with NFPA 72, local building codes, and life safety standards
     
  • Participate in project scheduling, budgeting, and coordination across construction disciplines
     
  • Oversee commissioning, training, and development of close-out documentation
     
  • Mentor junior engineers and uphold internal design standards and best practices
     
  • Engage with fire marshals, AHJs, and review agencies as needed
     
  • Manage projects across various sectors: healthcare, federal, transit, and data centers

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or related field
     
  • 5+ years of fire protection/life safety engineering experience
     
  • 2+ years focused on fire alarm system design and review
     
  • In-depth knowledge of NFPA codes and life safety regulations
     
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and fire alarm design tools
     
  • Working knowledge of Notifier and VESDA systems preferred
     
  • Hands-on commissioning or field experience is a plus
     
  • Experience interfacing with AHJs and navigating plan review
     
  • Must be able to develop battery calculations and sequence of operations
     

Certifications (Preferred or Required within 90 days):

  • NICET Level II or III in Fire Alarm Systems
