Our client, a respected commercial general contractor, is seeking an experienced MEP Superintendent to oversee mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems on a complex commercial and mixed-use construction project in South Florida.

Position Overview
The MEP Superintendent will be responsible for coordinating all major building systems from rough-in through final commissioning and turnover. This role serves as the primary field leader for MEP coordination, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and in compliance with project specifications and code requirements.
Working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, consultants, inspectors, and design professionals, the MEP Superintendent will play a critical role in delivering a successful project.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead field coordination of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, low-voltage, and life safety systems.
- Coordinate rough-in activities, above-ceiling work, equipment installation, startup, testing, balancing, commissioning, and final acceptance.
- Collaborate with structural, architectural, and field teams to minimize conflicts and improve installation efficiency.
- Coordinate inspections, code compliance, and life safety requirements throughout the construction process.
- Identify procurement risks, scheduling conflicts, design issues, and manpower concerns before they impact project milestones.
- Hold subcontractors accountable for quality, production, manpower commitments, and schedule performance.
- Maintain issue logs, inspection records, startup documentation, and project closeout materials.
- Partner with Project Managers and field leadership to proactively resolve technical challenges while maintaining schedule and budget goals.
- Promote a safe, organized, and collaborative jobsite environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of experience managing MEP systems on commercial, mixed-use, office, retail, healthcare, hospitality, or large-scale vertical construction projects.
- Proven experience coordinating HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, and life safety systems from rough-in through final turnover.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, commissioning, startup procedures, inspections, and code compliance.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and coordination documents.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors in complex construction environments.
- Florida commercial construction experience is strongly preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
- Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar construction management platforms is preferred.
