We are currently partnering with a well-established, employee-focused manufacturing organization to identify an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager for its Vermont operations.

About the Opportunity
The EHS Manager will provide leadership and hands-on support for environmental, health, and safety initiatives across the organization's Vermont facilities, with a primary focus on manufacturing and production operations.
This position will play a key role in strengthening the site's safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting employees and leaders, and driving continuous improvement across safety and environmental programs.
What You'll Do
- Provide EHS leadership, guidance, resources, and support to the manufacturing facility and surrounding operations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain environmental, health, and safety programs that promote safe work practices and employee engagement.
- Lead safety initiatives designed to build a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement mindset.
- Conduct new-hire safety orientations and deliver required annual and regulatory training.
- Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, DOT, and state and federal regulations.
- Partner with employees, supervisors, and leadership to identify, evaluate, and mitigate workplace hazards.
- Serve as a key resource for Safety Committees, Emergency Response Teams, and site leadership.
- Lead workplace incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct facility for inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
- Evaluate equipment, processes, and work environments for safety and ergonomic improvements.
- Recommend and implement engineering controls, administrative controls, and appropriate PPE.
- Maintain required EHS documentation, permits, records, and regulatory reports.
- Track, analyze, and communicate EHS performance metrics, trends, and KPIs.
- Coordinate and support internal and external compliance audits and regulatory inspections. Assist with workers' compensation for case management, return-to-work programs, and injury prevention initiatives.
- Monitor changes to EHS regulations and ensure ongoing compliance.
- Support sustainability, waste management, and environmental compliance initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Human Resources, and other departments.
- Travel between company facilities as needed.
What We're Looking for
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3–5+ years of related EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead EHS programs and influence safety performance at all levels of an organization.
- Experience managing workplace safety programs, regulatory compliance, audits, investigations, and corrective actions.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with employees, management, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHS reporting systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work onsite and travel between facilities as needed.
- EHS experience within food manufacturing, dairy processing, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.
- Professional certifications such as CSP, ASP, CHMM, or equivalent.
- Experience leading regulatory audits and environmental compliance programs.
- Experience with safety management systems.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with behavior-based safety programs.
- Experience supporting sustainability and environmental initiatives.
- $93,000 – $103,000 annual salary
