We are currently partnering with a well-established, second-generation family-owned commercial construction company seeking an experienced Estimator specializing in drywall and acoustical ceiling systems.

Role Overview

The Estimator will be responsible for reviewing blueprints, performing takeoffs, and preparing accurate cost estimates for commercial drywall and acoustical ceiling projects.

This role is strictly focused on estimating and is not a project management or field operations position.

Typical projects range around $300K and include commercial office, retail, and similar construction environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Review project drawings and specifications
• Perform quantity takeoffs using On-Screen Takeoff (OST) and Quick Bid
• Develop detailed and accurate project estimates
• Attend local pre-bid walkthroughs and site visits when required
• Compile pricing and prepare bid packages
• Coordinate with internal teams and leadership once projects are awarded
• Manage multiple estimates while maintaining accuracy and deadlines

Team Environment

This organization operates with a collaborative but independent team structure.

Current team includes:

• 3 Estimators
• 1 Field Superintendent
• Approximately 50 carpenters

Each estimator manages their own pipeline of bids while working closely with leadership and field operations.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of commercial drywall estimating experience
• Strong blueprint and construction drawing interpretation skills
• Experience preparing detailed takeoffs and cost estimates
• Proficiency with OST (On-Screen Takeoff) and Quick Bid
• Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong computer skills
• Positive, proactive work style

Education:
• High school diploma required

Preferred Experience

• Experience estimating commercial drywall and acoustical ceiling systems
• Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced bidding environment
• Experience working with commercial construction teams

Career Path

High-performing estimators may grow into lead estimator or estimating manager roles as the company continues to expand.
